Privacy Policy

The short version: the XIvXI app collects no data. There are no accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. We never see who you are or how you play.

This policy covers the XIvXI app for iPhone and iPad, developed by OK By Us, and this website.

What stays on your device

XIvXI keeps a few things on your iPhone or iPad so the game remembers them: your managers' nicknames and colours, their match records, and your settings. They are stored by iOS on the device, in the app's own storage, and never sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

Buying XIvXI and its decks is handled entirely by Apple, through the App Store. We never see your name, your Apple Account or your payment details. The app asks Apple which decks you own so it can unlock them; that conversation is between the app and Apple. Apple's own privacy policy covers it.

Playing a friend nearby

When you play a friend nearby, the two devices talk to each other directly over your local network. Nothing goes to the internet or to any server, ours or anyone else's.

The device hosting a game announces it on the local network so the other can find it. The announcement carries the host manager's nickname and colours, the kind of device (iPhone or iPad), and the version of XIvXI, so anyone nearby with XIvXI open and looking for games could see them. It carries no device name and nothing that identifies you.
The connection between the two devices is encrypted, using the four-digit code on the host's screen, so only someone who can see that screen can join.
During a match the devices send each other the match itself: the managers' nicknames and colours, the decks chosen, and each move. Nothing is kept afterwards except the result in each manager's record, on each device.

What the app never does

No accounts or sign-in of any kind.
No analytics, crash reporting services or tracking, and no advertising.
No contact with any server of ours: we do not run one.
No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.

Permissions the app asks for

Local Network, only when you choose to play a friend nearby, so the two devices can find each other. You can say no and still play the computer, pass-and-play and XIvXI Academy. To change your answer: Settings › XIvXI › Local Network.

Children

XIvXI collects no personal information from anyone, children included. On a child's account, Apple's Ask to Buy lets a parent approve purchases.

Your choices

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. Everything the app keeps is on your device, and deleting the app removes it.

This website

xivxi.us sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and, like any web host, may briefly log technical details such as IP addresses to keep the service secure; we do not use those logs to identify anyone. If you email us, we use your message only to answer it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will say so before that version is released.
